Term Papers on Corruption-Politics’ Ugly Sister
Corruption-Politics’ Ugly Sister Politics mold and shape more than just government policy. Politics change the land, the citizens, and most of all the people who live in its poisonous cloud of greed, scandal, and corruption. Robert Penn Warren’s classic novel All the King’s Men is a story of politics in an unidentified southern state. It shows the rise and fall of country lawyer Willie Stark as seen by his advisor Jack Burden. Although well meaning, Willie falls to the corruption of government, altering many lives on the way. He turned his support staff into vicious vultures, sending them to dig up dirt on other politicians. He has corrupted his office by using illegal means to achieve his goals. Willie’s family changes as well. His son, Tom, is an all state football player in high school and college, but he is also a spoiled brat and he gets into plenty of trouble. Tom nearly kills himself and his girlfriend in a drunk driving accident. He fathers a child with some hick girl, and devastates his family. Willie goes all out to protect his son. He even uses bribes to keep the family name respectable. By using money to protect his interests, Willie has become a businessman of sorts, using money to get what he wants, including the allegiance of people ... This is ONLY a preview of the article.
