John Grisham

     John Grisham did allot during his life. He was a scholar in college. Then a lawyer and finally as an author. He became a great writer by writing about what he knows and by not rushing his work. He took his time with his first book. It eventually became a best seller then the movie rites were sold and it became an award winning motion picture. It started out as just another book but A Time To Kill was boosted by the printing of his second novel The Firm.

     John Grisham was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1955. At the age of 12 he and his family settled in Southaven, Mississippi. “He has deep southern roots- so deep in fact that he a President Bill Clinton is distant cousins” (www.olemiss.edu/depts/english/ms-writers/grisham_john/) .There he developed into a good student. His eighth grade teacher “saw something special in him, but not necessarily an eager writer” (Pringle 2). In college he claimed “not to have taken a course in composition or creative writing but did earn a D in freshm English” (Pringle 1)
