Women in the Vietnam War

There is a myth that people aren’t ready for their, daughters, sisters, wives and mothers coming home in body bags.  Does this mean we're ready to have our sons, brothers, husbands and fathers come home in body bags? Is a woman's life more valuable than a man's? But is this a valid reason to keep women in "safe" roles? I say NO, because all our lives are precious... men's just as much as women's. It's NEVER a happy moment to see our people return from a war in a body bag.
     Now to just a few women in the military. . . .
Thought the years women have done many things in the military or to help the military.  Just to name a few,  Master Gunnery Sergeant Glenda Burly who joined the corps in 1977. Brigadier General Linda J. Stiele who joined the air force in 1970.  Francine Gantt was one of the women who worked at the Burbank, California Lockheed plant.   She was first a riveter in the wing section and she continued through the production  period as part of quality control unit it ceased in 1945.  There was a salute to the women who built the P-38 by the last planes produced.  Lieutenant Colonel Eileen Collins was the first woman to pilot of a space ship and who also logged in over 5thousand hours in over 30 different kinds of aircraft’s.  
     But no matter as many women I name or tell you about, one always comes to mind.  Amelia Earheart.  In 1920 Amelia went to a local air show and returned "hell bent" to learn how to fly.  We all know Amelia's story.  But she will always be remembered for her heroism.  The most important thing is that she was true to her dreams and she gave many young women the courage to go after their dreams.
In May 1942 a Soviet division commander found out that a new regiment of combat pilots that were assigned to him in which 254 were women younger the 20 years old.  This Night Bomber Regiment were to night bomb the north enemy line of Crimea. These young women work as hard or maybe even harder then the men. They made 15 to 18 round trips a night through German antiwar craft fire.
