MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION

PART II: MARKETING PLAN

MARKETING PLAN SUMMARY

My marketing operation is a simple one, made up of newspaper articles and word of
mouth, which is all I will really need to become popular. I intend for my target market to
be large therefore I will not need to research them throughly in order to get an idea of who
they are.  Also the demand for my type of place in this area is high so most of the
advertising can be done through word of mouth.

A. TARGET MARKET
Target Market- As I stated above I intend for my target market to be fairly large.
My reasoning is that everyone loves music or almost everyone and anyone with the
will probably stop in to see what I have.  And my intent is to make sure I always
have what they are looking for.  This requires me to have a very large and varied
     amount of music.

     1) Who- My market will be very large, but my main intent is to attract the whole
teenage market. This shouldn't be hard as long as I always carry what they
            are looking for.

     2) What- By attracting a mainly teenage market I will have to keep in mind that
teenagers don't always have alot of money.  But teenagers do love music
so the first thing they usually buy with their money is CD's.  And since
my store might be closer and more easily accessable to the teenagers in
this area than any other option.

     3) When- Teenagers seem to like a very varied amount of music so it would be
very hard for me to pick any particular type of music to push on my
              customers.

     4) Where- Like I said teenagers are very different people and it would be
impossible. So I will have to advertise at any seminar, trade show, or
specialty stop I think my target market will be.

B. COMPETITION

Direct competition- The other stores that I'm in direct competition with are other
music stores like Musicland, Disc Jockey, or even Walmart.  These stores
all sell CD's like I do, I intend to have a much larger variety of music.  And
also I will sell guitars and other musical instruments and accessories which
          none of those stores have.

Indirect competition- Some other places that might be in competition with my
store are music catalogs.  These catalogs attract a slightly different market
so they are in indirect competition with me.  Still they will steal some of my
          market.

C. DISTRIBUTION

I think the best way for me to distribute my product to the customer is the same
classic method all the music stores u...
