This is a timeline about the Revolutionary War, in chronological order.

1740


1740s- English settlers and traders move into the Ohio River Valley. The King of England banned this in the proclamation of 1763, which sparked unrest in the colonies.
1750

1754- French and Indian War begins. This gives the colonists thier first sense of unity against a enemy.
1760

1763- The Treaty of Paris ends the French and Indian War.
1765- Stamp Act.
1766- Stamp Act repealed.
1767- Townshend Acts. These two acts made the colonists very unhappy, and they believed that England didn't have the right to do this to them without representation in parliment.
1770

1770- Boston Massacre. Five colonists were gunned down after a riot in Boston. This was a sign of the dark times that were to come.
1773- Battles of Lexington and Concord; The American Revolution began after English troops tried to steal guns from the colonists. The colonists fought back, and the skirmish ended in a draw.
1774- Intolerable Acts. They were a series of acts designed to punish Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party.
1774- The First Continental Congress convenes. The colonists united against the Intolerable Acts and decided to form thier own militia. They also decided to stop exporting goods t...
