Alliteration: The practice of beginning several words in a row with the same sound. Doing this helps create a mood in which would otherwise be difficult to create. Example: The twisted trout twinkled below. 4. Personification: A kind of metaphor which gives human characteristics to inanimate objects or abstract ideas. Example: The wind whistles through the trees. 5. Onomatopoeia: It is the use of words whose sounds seem to resemble that sound they describe. Example: Hiss, Bong, Buzz, Rustle. 3.
