Michelangelo

     All his life Michelangelo thought of himself as a sculptor rather than as painter. He in fact was npt a painter. All his paintings generally resembled polychromed sculpture.
     Michelangelo left his family in order to devote the money he made and pass it along for his families re-establisnment.
     Michelangelo used male models for his monumental female figures and it is hard to deciede on whether the subject is a young man or woman.
     Michelangelo signed many contracts. Some of them were: The Piccolomini Alter when fifteen statues were to be made in three years, the Twelfth large-scale apostles to be executed in as any years for the cathedral of Florence and a huge fresco painting of the battle of Cascina which was barely started. This was all to be done in five years. In forty years only ten statues were ever done.
