Seven

     The movie Seven is a different kind of movie.  Most movies are designed to appeal to the senses.  They are a roller coaster ride of thrill after thrill and feeling after feeling.  Seven does not accomplish this by a roller coaster but forces the audience to think about what it is enjoying.  You must pay a price to enjoy the heart of the movie.
     The aura around the title itself sends the audience into thinking about what is about to happen.  The mere mention of the number seven sends chills down the spine of the superstitious and weary.  The number seven has been known as an unlucky number for many years.  What does this number refer too?  Is this movie really about the number seven?  In a way the audience is being drawn into the story without even watching one minute of the movie.
     The use quick glimpses of what is to come are constantly used throughout the movie. The use of these glimpses is used to methodically draw the audience into the story further and further.  All of the questions about these images will be answered as the movie progresses.
     The initial impression of the two main characters is very important the whole scheme of things.  Lieutenant Sommerset (Morgan Freeman) is immediately portrayed as an intelligent and methodical man.  He creates a neat and orderly world.  On the opposite side of the spectrum is Lieutenant Mills...
