Term Papers on PARADIGM FOR THE SOCIOLOGY OF TECHNOLOGY
PARADIGM FOR THE SOCIOLOGY OF TECHNOLOGY Forming a piece of the paradigm for sociology and technology is something I see best explained through my current endeavor in the technology field. I myself am building a 3d engine, which I think is a very good point in using to develop such a paradigm. Firstly, I think I should explain what I mean by a 3d engine. A 3d engine is something that can be used in a universal manner to simulate any phenomenon in various fields of the computer industry. It is highly used in next generation entertainment, games and applications. It has become so popular in today's industry, that a newly advertised computer must come equipped with either a 3d graphics accelerator card or come with 3d acceleration features built into the actual cpu (as the brand new 3D NOW computers). Building a 3d graphics engine leads to employing a very expandable creative process of developing new inventions. It requires research on all available techniques; designing an engine in your head then putting your thoughts down on paper; applying all the techniques found to all the features you thought of; form a difficulty level for each step in the design plan; and finally go about building the whole thing from according to the timeline you have planned out. This is similar to the IMPACT model of creativity, but it employs much more and is more achievable in my opinion. In essence, what these steps say are : 1. Do research on the technology through other peoples posting (mainly on the net). 2. Make a design of all features of the invention. 3. Solve any problems found with step 2 with the techniques found in step 1. 4. Plot out a time line of when and how each step of the invention is going to be. 5. Last but not least, go about creating this new invention step by step (trying to stay within the set timelimits) In my findings, this is more upfront and effective than the IMPACT model because it sets time limits for the invention if possible and is focused around the Network Theory model also. It requires the inventor to search and rely on the findings of other inventors through the biggest network to date, the internet. This all leads to the inventor now, how does one actually start formulating such an invention in his head, and actually take the time to follow it up. As in my case, it has always been a passion of mines to find out how things work. I seen my first computer game at the age of 10, and ever since I have been working towards becoming the best at programming such things. At the age of 14, I knew 2 computer programming languages, and to date (19) I know over 7 different languages and variations on each. Inventors are born when something sparks in their heads. Like me, I would think that most inventors are people who have found something that fascinates them in such a degree that they must go out and try to conquer this fascination. This leads to the presentation of the intended invention. Whenever I post my engine to the net, I receive dozens of mail from fellow coders from all around…but when it comes to the general public, they don't realize the power of the new discovery. This is where the designer comes into play. Their job is to make the invention very presentable and public friendly. Science plays a lot, especially in my kind of invention. The whole design of a 3d engine is centered around a physical environment replicated in 3d, in which objects are given weights, speed, direction and everything must be taken into account for. It is such a valuable tool, that there is a separate section of the engine given to this called the physics engine. If invention can learn to use what is given about the natural world, it would also make it easier to establish a more meaningful purpose. Institutions are coming up to standards recently with my field especially. Most colleges require you to learn a computer programming language, and some substitute it in for a foreign language. This is great motivation in pushing people to work on the own projects. Who knows, they might find it to their likings t... This is ONLY a preview of the article.
