Eros

     Eros, otherwise known as cupid is the god of love. He is
the son of Aphrodite who is the goddess of love and beauty.
Eros could overpower any man or god with love or hate and
it only took one shot of his gold arrow. Though he was
young he was a very powerful god. Eros used golden arrows
to make any man or god fall in love. He shot his arrows into
the chest of the man and they would fall head over heels
with any woman that Eros chose.  Sometimes Eros or Cupid
is known as a mischievous child who plays tricks on the
hearts of men and gods.

     In art Eros or Cupid is usually shown as a winged baby
archer who often had his eyes covered to symbolize the
blindness of love.  Sometimes he would be shown carrying a
flower but usually he had his golden bow and arrow.
