The Catcher in the Rye

     In the case of this book, as well a few other books I have read, summarizing the
plot is kind of  difficult. Stateing the theme would be a much easier task, In this case,
because the there is no rising and falling action or any other of the components that
usually put together a plot. Also I don’t think the specifics of what the main character
does really matters, unless you want to read what he actually does.

     The story starts with the main character, holden caulfield, spending his last days at
his Prep school, Pency high. He was kicked out of this school because he had failed 4 of
his 5 subjects. English being the one he passed. He was unmotivated and disgusted by all
the phonies he found himself surrounded with. Which he always is.

     Because of this he decides to go to New York for a few days before going home
for Christmas Vacation. His parents didn’t know he got kicked out so he planned to stay
