What I liked about the book:  I liked that the story took place in 1000 BC because I like stories that took place long ago.

     This story begins when the Aleuts come to the Island of the Blue Dolphins.  The Aleuts said that they had a compromise with the Indians that lived on the island.  They said that they would give the Indians treasure if they let the Aleuts kill the seals for their skins.  When the day came for the trade the leader of the Aleuts shot the Indian chief and other Indians.  The Aleuts then left.  The next day so did the Indians.  Karana, an Indian, rode in a different boat than her family.  When they were about twenty minutes off shore she saw her little brother, Kimki, still on the island.  She jumped off the boat and swam back to the island.  That night Karana and Kimki were the only ones on the island.  The next morning Kimki got killed by the wild dogs.  Karana d...
