Abuse to our Children

             I want to discuss child abuse because it is a reality in this world.  Child abuse is a social problem that affects millions of children each year.  Not only does child abuse have multiple societal repercussions, but also individual repercussions that produce lifelong scars.  We know there are many forms of child abuse: there is sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional abuse.  It has been reported that one out of three girls, and one out of seven boys are sexually abused by the time they reach the age of eighteen.  On the internet, I read a study that showed approximately 27 percent of the women in every state of the union, and 16 percent of the men said they had been sexually abused as children.  Child abuse two words that should never have to be seen side by side.  Unfortunately, to wish otherwise would be the same as to wish for a perfect world.

I watch the news a lot, and one night I was watching the NBC news at 10 pm.  There it was, talking about how a two year old girl got abused in New Jersey. Her mother met a man on Internet, and she agreed for that man to come to her home and let the guy have sex with her two year old baby. For me to hear something like this I just wanted to cry; my heart was hurting me inside.  Until this day, I still remember the story.  Hearing something like this makes me think why would that man want a two year old girl? What kind of pleasure can you get from a two year old girl. There are no body parts really; she is so small. For me to hear a man raping a women hurts my heart; but raping a two year old girl, makes me what to turn the world around.  And what about the mother --did she care for her child?  I can’t understand how could a mother do that to her child. How cruel do you have to be to due something like that. And I don’t understand why didn’t the mother have sex with that man why the baby? After all these thoughts ran through my head I called my friend and told him about what I just heard on the news.  His first words were, “I wish these people were be shot and made a examples for others who would even think about doing something like that”.  I disagreed with my friend about this because that’s not an answer to a problem.  If we kill every man or woman that abuses others, what kind of example are we showing to others that it is alright to kill to get a better world, No No No!
