Subject:  Philanthropic Project for Speedy Sushi

Here is the requested report for incorporating philanthropy with in Speedy Sushi.  The purpose of this report is to research and analyze the philanthropic commitments of other companies and to adopt and use their philanthropy strategies.

After researching several companies and their commitments to community I have selected five companies for models pertaining to this project.  This report includes summaries of the philanthropic activities of Merck, Target, Wal-mart, The Olive Garden and The Cheesecake Factory.

For Speedy Sushi, I recommend the following philanthropic projects:

- Assistance to Disaster Relief
- Donations to Food Banks
- Helping the Environment

Launching Philanthropic Activities in the Community

Executive Summary

               To launch philanthropic activities Speedy Sushi will need means of funding and a solid support system in the community.

               Speedy Sushi primary goal is not to make a profit but to give back to the community as well.  Speedy Sushi’s giving habits can help build its reputation and brand loyalty.  Focusing on philanthropy will affect internal and external relationships by instilling charitable efforts among employees, and creating partnerships in the community.  Positive image resulting from philanthropy will strengthen company marketing and improve the bottom line.

               This report summarizes the philanthropic obligations of 5 companies relevant to the philanthropic projects I propose for Speedy Sushi. I was able to derive ideas by gathering information on successful philanthropic activities of other companies.  This report includes the 3 projects that, I propose for Speedy Sushi to launch.

I propose that Speedy Sushi implement the following projects


Project 1: Assistance to Disaster Relief.  Each branch of Speedy Sushi will donate 2 % of the monthly profits to a disaster relief fund of their choice; either globally or locally.  Once the individual restaurant chooses a specific organization to donate to it will display a poster explaining about the project and ways in which the customers may also contribute.
